Internet access points were increasingly a business risk.
The solution
The new infrastructure solution fulfils all requirements for
Dräger's network restructuring. Most countries are
linked to each other through an MPLS backbone, with
locations in individual countries then generally networked via IPSec. A combination of DSL and Leased Lines completes
the last mile. Employees at all locations have permanent
access to the corporate network through worldwide RAS
(Remote Access Service), even while travelling. Vanco also
provides a comprehensive security package with Managed
DMZ (Demilitarised Zone) and firewalls in carrier-neutral
co-locations. The DMZ protects corporate server and
network components that connect to public network providers
and enables Dräger to place applications in the network
centrally.
Client benefits
- Single point of contact for the entire network
- Cost savings from day one and ongoing cost reductions while improving network performance
- Dräger gets a range of access and backbone technologies; every site will be connected according to local requirements
- RAS transparency - separate billing for each RAS user
- Consistent Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- End-to-end network control
- Managed internet breakouts in co-locations guarantee higher security level
- End-to-end reporting and change management
What the customer thinks of the solution
"We were convinced by the flexible VNO model because it
matched our high demands for a centrally managed
infrastructure and consistently fair market costs. It was
particularly important for us as a global enterprise that with
Vanco we have a single partner and uniform Service Level
Agreements."
Michael von Smolinksi, CIO Drägerwerk AG
